How availability is confirmed
Green coffee availability changes through the season: cherry is still being harvested at one origin while another is milling and a third is mostly contracted. A list that is not re-checked goes out of date within weeks, so rather than publish one we confirm each offer when a buyer asks.
Send the origin, grade, screen, process, volume and shipment window you are working to. The offer comes back with the lot’s specification, the crop year and the date its position was checked. If a specification cannot be filled from the current crop, we say so.
Reading a lot listing
What each status means
When lots are published, each carries one of these statuses and the date it was last reviewed. A lot is withdrawn automatically once that review is older than the window shown.
- Available
- In store or milled, and can be prepared against a confirmed specification.
- Re-checked at least every 21 days
- Limited
- A small remaining quantity — confirm before planning a programme around it.
- Re-checked at least every 14 days
- Upcoming crop
- Expected from the harvest in progress; not yet available to ship.
- Re-checked at least every 45 days
- Allocated
- Committed to a contract. Shown for reference, not offered.
- Re-checked at least every 30 days
