What this site collects

This website collects information in exactly two circumstances: when you submit one of the enquiry forms, and — only if you have accepted analytics cookies — when you browse.

Enquiry forms

The offer request, sample request and contact forms collect the details you enter. That typically includes your name, company, email address, country, and the commercial detail of your enquiry. The offer request form additionally accepts a specification document if you choose to attach one.

Attached documents are not stored on this website. They are read into memory, forwarded with your enquiry to the configured destination, and discarded. Attachments are limited to five megabytes and to a small list of document and image formats.

Alongside your submission, the server records the time of receipt, your browser’s user-agent string and the referring page. A coarse country indicator may be recorded where the hosting platform provides one. Your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting and is not stored with the enquiry.

Analytics

No analytics script is loaded and no analytics event is recorded until you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, nothing is loaded and any events queued in your browser while the banner was open are discarded. See the cookie policy for the detail.

What this site does not do

  • No advertising or retargeting pixels.
  • No third-party embeds that load before consent.
  • No fonts, scripts or images loaded from third-party hosts — everything is self-hosted.
  • No sale or sharing of enquiry data with third parties for their own purposes.
  • No account system, and no password storage.

Why we hold it

Enquiry details are used to respond to your enquiry and, where a trading relationship follows, to maintain it — offers, samples, contracts, shipping documentation and the correspondence around them. The lawful basis is your consent for the initial enquiry and our legitimate interest, or the performance of a contract, once a commercial relationship begins.

Analytics, where consented to, is used to understand which origin and knowledge pages buyers actually use, so those pages can be improved.

How long it is kept

Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to respond and, where a relationship follows, for the period required for commercial and tax record-keeping. Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are not retained indefinitely.

Where a contract requires supply chain or due diligence records to be retained, the retention period for those records is agreed in the contract — see due diligence data.

Who it is shared with

Enquiry details are handled by the people responding to your enquiry and by the service providers we use to receive and store correspondence — the hosting platform, and the email or CRM provider configured to receive enquiries. They process it on our instructions and for no other purpose.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive it in a portable form. You can withdraw consent to analytics at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which returns the consent banner.

To exercise any of these, contact us at [email protected].

International transfers

We operate at origin in East Africa and correspond with buyers worldwide, so enquiry correspondence is transferred internationally as a matter of course. Where those transfers involve personal data leaving a jurisdiction with transfer restrictions, they are made under the safeguards that apply to that jurisdiction.
