Joining Kawempe Division’s security awareness walk

In December 2024 our staff joined the Uganda Police Force’s Kawempe Division for a community security awareness walk, alongside residents, local leaders and security personnel.
The walk was organised around conversations about crime prevention and community support in a division that has recently seen substantial investment through the Parish Development Model. The straightforward argument for taking part is that local economic progress and local security are not separable: investment that a neighbourhood cannot keep hold of does not compound.
“We believe thriving communities are built on a foundation of safety and trust,” said Fred O. Bwire, representing the company at the walk.
Our facility and most of our workforce are in this community. Participation of this kind is not a marketing exercise for us so much as an ordinary consequence of being based somewhere.
